RockBallast^® is a family of sub ballast mats based on stonewool designed for ballasted railway tracks with the objective of reducing the environmental problems from ground-borne vibrations from railway traffic.

RockBallast^® 3515:

The core of RockBallast^® 3515 is a dual density mat of 50 mm of stonewool. It consists of 2 layers: a hard upper layer of 15 mm and an elastic lower layer of 35 mm. In combination, the proper dynamic stiffness and protection from deterioration from the ballast stones are obtained.

The RockBallst^® 3515 solution includes protection of the stone wool with an upper layer of geogrid. For outdoor purposes the geogrid is water repellant.

RockBallast^® 3515  is designed for axle loads up to 25 T and maximum speeds of 220 km/h.

RockBallast^® 7015

The core of RockBallast^® 7015 consists of 2 layers: One layer of RockBallast 3515 on top of a layer of 35 mm stone wool, thus providing 85 mm of stonewool in total. By enlarging the elastic part of the solution the dynamic stiffness is reduced in comparison to the RockBallast 3515 solution - while preserving other features.

The RockBallast^® 7015 solution includes protection of the stonewool with an upper layer of geogrid.

RockBallast^® 7015 is designed for axle loads up to 25 T and maximum speeds of 220 km/h.
