Stone wool has been used for more than 60 years. It has proven itself as a popular and safe insulation material and is one of the most well-documented and tested building materials.
World Health Organization Confirms Safety
RockDelta stone wool is not only easy and comfortable to work with, it is also a safe material to work with. This fact is supported by the decision of the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) to exempt stone wool from its list of "possibly cancer causing agents".
This conclusion was based on the fact that epidemiological studies provide no evidence of an increased risk of lung cancer from occupational exposure to stone wool fibres, and that there has been no excess of tumours in long-term inhalation studies.
